Travis Head stood tall as he hammered a centurion knock to take the team towards victory.

ICC World Cup 2023: No Indian wanted the result of ICC World Cup 2023 final to be the way it happened on Sunday at the Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad as Australia defeated India in the final of ODI World Cup even after 20 years. It was in 2003 as well when Aussies defeated Men in Blue in the final of World Cup and the result was same today. One man with support from another man took charge and led the team to the victory. Remember the name - Travis Head!

Travis Head has definitely something against India as he has been playing such crucial innings in several big occasions, especially when it is against India. He did the same during the ICC World Test Championship and did the same in ICC World Cup 2023 as he hammered a maginificent century against those who have been dominating all other sides in the league stage. 

At first, Australia won the toss and elected to bowl first, inviting Indians to bat and restricted them at 240 runs. However, 240 seemed to have been sufficient initially as Australia lost 3 wickets in the beginning of the match untill Travis Head took charge. 

Marnus Labuschagne and Tarvis Head knitted a match -winning partnership where Travis Head took care of adding runs while Marnus managed to not let the wicket fall, when needed the most. On the other hand, the main Indian gun, Mohammed Shami, didn't fire and Jasprit Bumrah who was doing great in the beginning could't do much till the end.

All in all, the Aussies who were at the end of the league table in the start and 3rd when they end their league campaign, not only defeated the dominant South Africa in the semis but also the 'giants', India, in the finals and won the ICC World Cup 2023. 

Unfortunate but it is what it is! Congratulations Australia on winning the World Cup and praying for the strength to Team India.
