Ankit is the son of film director and artist Bhaal Singh Balhara

CHANDIGARH: Indian hockey team captain and goalkeeper Savita Punia has tied the knot to Ankit Balhara from Canada. Savita Punia, a resident of Jodhka village in Sirsa got married in a palace at Zirakpur. Ankit is originally from Sonepat.

Savita's father Mahendra Punia said that his son-in-law Ankit Balhara did not took dowry in the marriage and instead accepted only Rs 1 as an omen. Ankit is the son of film director and artist Bhaal Singh Balhara. Ankit Balhara works as a software engineer in Canada. Along with this, he is also a playback singer in the film industry.

Savita Punia and Ankit Balhara's wedding preparations were going on for the last one year. Both got married on April 5. Apart from family members and relatives, only close friends were present on this occasion.
