Vinesh Phogat will meet Cuba's Yusneylis Lopez Guzman in semi-finals.

Paris Olympics 2024 Wrestling Vinesh Phogat into semi-finals: Indian wrestler Vinesh Phogat on Tuesday defeated the World No. 1 Japan's Yui Susaki in the Round of 16 and then Ukraine's Livach in the quarterfinals to enter the semifinal match which is set to be held on Tuesday at around 10:30 pm. 

The world championships bronze medallist and gold medallist at the Commonwealth Games, Asian Games as well Asian Championships, Vinesh Phogat is one of the most decorated Indian wrestlers in history but her outings at the Summer Games have met heartbreaking ends. But not this time. 

Vinesh Phogat earlier defeated the biggest threat in her way to Gold — Yui Susaki by 3-2. She defeated the dominant in the last 7 seconds. Later, she defeated Ukraine's Oksana Livach to enter the semifinals where she'll meet Cuba's Yusneylis Lopez Guzman. 

Vinesh, who is part of the famed Phogat sisters, made her Olympic debut at Rio 2016 in the women’s 48kg freestyle category but was forced to retire from her quarter-final bout following a horrific knee injury.
