Trudeau repeated that his government, along with business leaders and community members, is dedicated to stopping the tariffs from being implemented.
"We will just keep doing that work and do whatever we have to do to prevent those tariffs from coming in, but as I've said, if on Tuesday there are unjustified tariffs imposed on Canada, we will have a very rapid and very strong response, as Canadians will expect," Trudeau stated.

The declaration follows increases tensions rapidly between two nations over trade.
