According to the official complaint, the email was sent to Khurana’s personal account and included a voice note. The message is allegedly from a foreign-based gangster who demanded the ransom while issuing threats. Taking the matter seriously, the Sohana Police registered the case on Friday under Sections 308(4) and 351(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

SP (Investigation) Saurav Jindal confirmed the registration of the FIR, stating that the district police have launched a comprehensive probe. Experts are now working to trace the digital footprint of the email and verify the origin of the voice recording. Further legal action will follow once the source of the communication is identified.

This incident adds to a growing number of extortion bids targeting prominent figures in the Punjabi film and music industry, prompting calls for increased vigilance and swifter action against overseas-based criminal networks.
