“The time has come for the Iranian people to reclaim their legacy and demand freedom from this brutal regime.”
Israel Iran War Latest News, Benjamin Netanyahu Calls on Iranians Today: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has issued a strong appeal to the people of Iran, urging them to oppose their government amid escalating military confrontations between the two nations.
Speaking after a fresh round of Iranian missile attacks targeting Israeli cities, Netanyahu stated that Israel’s military efforts are directed solely at Iran’s ruling establishment, not its citizens.
“Our conflict is not with the people of Iran but with the regime that has suppressed and impoverished them for decades,” Netanyahu said in a national address. “The time has come for the Iranian people to reclaim their legacy and demand freedom from this brutal regime.”
He further described the ongoing Israeli military action — Operation Rising Lion — as one of the most significant in the country’s history. “The Islamic regime, in power for nearly 50 years, has made clear its intention to destroy Israel. We are taking decisive action to eliminate the nuclear and missile threats they pose,” Netanyahu said.
Iran Strikes Back
Shortly after Netanyahu’s statement, Iran responded with a new wave of missile attacks, causing injuries in Tel Aviv and sparking explosions across the city. At least 78 people were reported dead in earlier strikes on Friday morning.
Air raid sirens were triggered across central Israel, and large columns of smoke could be seen rising above downtown Tel Aviv. The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) claimed responsibility, stating it had hit multiple targets inside Israel.
In Tehran, loud explosions were heard as the Iranian government activated its air defense systems. Residents in the capital reported flashes in the night sky and the sounds of interception efforts by anti-aircraft batteries, according to local sources and AFP correspondents.
Trump Pressures Iran for Nuclear Deal
Meanwhile, former U.S. President Donald Trump weighed in on the conflict, warning Iran to engage in renewed nuclear talks with Washington. In a post on Truth Social, Trump said, “The destruction already witnessed is immense. But it could get much worse if Iran continues on this path.”
He added, “There is still time to halt the bloodshed. But if Iran refuses to make a deal, the upcoming retaliations will be even more severe.”
With tensions at a boiling point, the region remains on edge, and international observers are closely monitoring the rapidly developing situation for signs of further escalation.
