Wisconsin Donald Trump Assasination Case: In a chilling turn of events, a Wisconsin teenager allegedly murdered his parents in what the FBI says was the first step in a larger plot to assassinate former U.S. President Donald Trump and spark a political revolution.
Nikita Casap, a 17-year-old high schooler, has been charged with killing his mother and stepfather, Tatiana Casap and Donald Mayer, whose bodies were found in their Waukesha home in late February. Authorities believe the murders occurred around February 11, after Casap failed to show up at school for nearly two weeks.
But what investigators discovered next shocked even seasoned law enforcement officers: documents, digital evidence, and disturbing writings outlining an extremist ideology, admiration for Adolf Hitler, and links to the neo-Nazi cult Order of Nine Angles. Casap allegedly believed that assassinating Trump would kickstart a violent revolution.
According to FBI files, Casap planned meticulously. He allegedly contacted people in Russia, purchased explosives and a drone, and had an escape route mapped out — all the way to Ukraine.
When police stopped him in Kansas on the day the bodies were discovered, he was found driving his stepfather’s car, loaded with a .357 Smith & Wesson pistol, credit cards, jewelry, $14,000 in cash (some hidden in a Bible), and a broken-into safe.
Investigators believe the motive behind the double murder was to gain the financial freedom and independence needed to carry out his political attack. Casap now faces multiple charges, including homicide, identity theft, and concealing a corpse.
He appeared in court on April 9 for a preliminary hearing and is due for arraignment on May 7. His bail is set at $1 million. He has yet to enter a plea.
