Brampton Hindu Temple Attack Latest News Today: The Peel Region Police have made an additional arrest following a violent incident at a Hindu temple in Brampton, Canada, on November 3.
The arrest was part of an investigation by the 21 Division Criminal Investigations Bureau and the Strategic Investigation Team (SIT), which has been examining the clash at the temple on The Gore Road.
The altercation occurred during a demonstration at the Brampton Mandir. According to the police statement, tensions between opposing groups escalated, leading to physical confrontations where flags and sticks were reportedly used as weapons. Numerous offences, many captured on video, prompted police to launch a detailed investigation.
One suspect, identified as 35-year-old Inderjeet Gosal of Brampton, was arrested on November 8 and charged with assault with a weapon. He has been released under specific conditions and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Brampton.
The SIT, formed to investigate the incidents from November 3 and 4, noted that the complex investigation is ongoing and further arrests are anticipated as more suspects are identified.
In response, Canadian MP Chandra Arya condemned the attack by Khalistani extremists, denouncing any attempts to frame the incident as a Hindu-Sikh conflict. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi also expressed condemnation on X, formerly Twitter. The Indian High Commission in Canada criticized the "violent disruption" outside a consular camp, attributing it to 'anti-India' elements.
