President Trump has temporarily paused military aid to Ukraine amid its ongoing war with Russia. In response, Zelenskyy stated: "Nobody wants peace more than Ukrainians. My team and I stand ready to work under President Trump’s strong leadership to achieve a lasting peace."

He further added, "We are ready to work swiftly to end the war, and the first steps could include the release of prisoners and a truce in the sky—banning missiles, long-range drones, and bombs targeting energy and civilian infrastructure—as well as an immediate ceasefire at sea, provided that Russia does the same. Then, we aim to move quickly through the next stages and work with the U.S. to reach a strong final agreement."

Zelenskyy also expressed gratitude for the support America has extended to Ukraine in maintaining its sovereignty and independence. He acknowledged the role of U.S. military assistance, particularly the supply of Javelins, which he said had significantly benefited Ukraine.

Despite repeatedly expressing his gratitude to the U.S., he was accused of being ungrateful during his last meeting in the Oval Office by President Trump and Vice President JD Vance. During the meeting, Zelenskyy repeatedly stated that he had expressed his appreciation multiple times and continued to do so.

When the pause on military aid was announced, officials stated that, in addition to emphasizing the need to remain focused on achieving peace and ensuring that partners stay committed to that goal, the decision was a direct response to what Trump perceives as Zelenskyy’s “bad behavior” last week.

Referring to his last meeting with President Trump and Vice President JD Vance in the Oval Office, which did not go well, Zelenskyy remarked, "It is regrettable that it happened this way. It is time to make things right. We hope that future cooperation and communication will be constructive."

Ukraine sees this agreement as a step toward greater security and guarantees, and President Zelenskyy is committed to working effectively toward its implementation.
