President Donald Trump Freezes U.S. Military Aid to Ukraine after Oval Office Argument latest news:  U.S. President Donald Trump has temporarily paused military aid to Ukraine amid its ongoing war with Russia.

The decision comes days after a heated exchange with his Ukrainian counterpart, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in the Oval Office last Saturday.

During the meeting, Zelenskyy sought security guarantees to prevent future Russian aggression, but Trump rejected the request, telling Zelensky to Come back when he’s ready for peace.

Reports indicate that Trump held multiple meetings with top national security officials at the White House before making the decision. There is no report of how long the pause would last.

“The president has been clear that he is focused on peace. We need our partners to be committed to that goal as well. We are pausing and reviewing our aid to ensure that it is contributing to a solution,” a White House official said.

Officials stated that the halt will apply to all military equipment not yet delivered to Ukraine and is a direct response to what Trump perceives as Zelenskyy’s “bad behavior” last week.

During the Oval Office meeting, Trump reportedly told Zelenskyy, “You gotta be more thankful. Because, let me tell you, you don’t have the cards. With us, you have the cards, but without us, you don’t have any cards.”

He further added, “Once we sign this deal, you are in a much better position. But you are not acting at all thankful, and that’s not a nice thing. I’ll be honest. That’s not a nice thing.”

Zelenskyy’s office has not yet responded to the decision.

According to a report published by Reuters, Senator Jeanne Shaheen, the leading Democrat on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, stated, “By halting military aid to Ukraine, President Trump has given Putin a clear opportunity to intensify his violent aggression against innocent Ukrainians. The consequences will undoubtedly be severe.”
