Four Senior Citizens of Indian Origin in Their 80s Go Missing During U.S. Road Tri
New York/Pennsylvania: Four senior citizens of Indian origin have gone missing during a road trip from New York to Pennsylvania, India Today reported, citing reports.
The missing individuals — Dr. Kishore Divan (89), Asha Divan (85), Shailesh Divan (86), and Gita Divan (84) — were last seen on July 29 at a Burger King outlet on Peach Street in Erie, Pennsylvania, according to the report. Their last known credit card transaction also took place at this location.
The group was reportedly travelling in a light green Toyota Camry with a New York license plate (EKW2611). They were headed to the Palace of Gold in Marshall County, West Virginia, where they had planned to stay the night on July 29. However, they never checked in, the report said, citing WTEF.com.
Authorities say the group has not answered their phones since that day. Cell tower data last picked up signals from their devices around 3 a.m. on Wednesday in Moundsville, West Virginia.
Marshall County Sheriff Mike Dougherty said that search efforts have been intensified.
“We have a few leads that we and surrounding law enforcement agencies are investigating, but have not yet located the missing persons,” Dougherty told WTOV News9, as per the report.
