Musk Trump conference: Trump Reveals  How He Averted India-Pakistan War; India Credits Own Military

Trump Reveals  How He Averted India-Pakistan War latest news: In a press conference, Donald Trump revealed that he "stopped" the recent four-day war-like situation between India and Pakistan. Following the Pahalgam terror attack, India launched Operation Sindoor, targeting terror bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), to which Pakistan retaliated.

President Trump, speaking at the Oval Office, said, “We stopped India and Pakistan from fighting. I believe that could have turned into a nuclear disaster, and I want to thank the leaders of India and the leaders of Pakistan. I also want to thank my people.”

He added, “We talked trade, and we said we can’t trade with people who are shooting at each other and potentially using nuclear weapons. The leaders of those countries were great, they understood, and they agreed — and that all stopped.”
He made these remarks during a joint press conference with Elon Musk at the Oval Office, as the tech billionaire stepped down from his role as a special government employee.

Trump also said, “The Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia and the leaders of the UAE and Qatar, during my visit to those countries, mentioned that the United States is the hottest country right now.”

He added, “Six months ago, we thought it was dead — it was like a dead country. And it would have been a dead country if we didn’t get the right result on November 5. But now, the country is hot, and we are doing really well.”

“When we left, we had no wars, we had no problems. We defeated ISIS. We rebuilt our military, and we had no inflation. And when I came back, we had wars all over the place. We had the embarrassment in Afghanistan, where we gave up billions and billions of dollars’ worth of military equipment — the most embarrassing moment in the history of our country, I believe that strongly. We have Russia with Ukraine, we had the horrible attack on Israel on October 7 — nobody’s ever seen anything like it. And now, we are really healing a lot of that.”

He went onto then talks about deescalating the war like situation between India and Pakistan.

Few days back, in a interview with FAZ, in clear terms EAM S Jaishankar had disproved claims that India and Pakistan were on the brink of a nuclear conflict during the recent war-like situation between the two neighbouring countries from May 7–10, stating, “At no point was a nuclear level reached.”

When the EAM was asked about the possibility of the conflict between India and Pakistan turning into a nuclear conflict, Jaishankar said, “Very, very far away,” and added that he was “astonished” by the question.

Talking about Operation Sindoor, he said, “We had terrorist targets. Those were very measured, carefully considered, and non-escalatory steps. After that, the Pakistani military opened fire on us. We were able to show them that we could disable their air defense systems. Then the firing stopped at their request.”

He emphasized, “At no point was a nuclear level reached. There is a narrative as if everything that happens in our part of the world leads directly to a nuclear problem. That disturbs me a lot because it encourages terrible activities like terrorism. If anything, much more is happening with the nuclear issue in your part of the world,” he added.

When he was asked if ‘America is to be thanked for the ceasefire, as Washington portrays it’, S. Jaishankar, refuting Trump’s claims, replied in clear terms that the “cessation of firing was agreed between the military commanders of both sides through direct contact.”

“The cessation of firing was agreed between the military commanders of both sides through direct contact. The morning before, we effectively hit and incapacitated Pakistan's main airbases and air defense system. So who should I thank for the cessation of hostilities? I thank the Indian military because it was the Indian military action that made Pakistan say: ‘We are ready to stop,’” the Minister said.

After talking about all the wars across the worls, he said, "Was stopping others from fighting also because ultimately we can fight better than anybody. We  have greatest military in the world. We have the greatest leaders in the world. We put one of them in charge of the Joint Chiefs of Staff...We wiped out ISIS completely in three weeks. They said it would take five years and we did it in three weeks. And that is the way it is. We don’t want to have to use military. We want to peace through strength when we can."
