Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Sunday undertook a series of significant engagements across the state.

In the early hours, the Chief Minister embarked on a jungle safari in the Dhela range of Corbett National Park, located in Corbett City, Ramnagar. During his visit, he met with forest rangers and elephants in the reserve area and also planted a sapling, promoting the importance of green initiatives.

Speaking to the ANI, CM Dhami said, “Corbett is home to tigers, leopards, and many other animals. With 70% of Uttarakhand's area covered in forests, we are committed to enhancing our green cover further. We are planting many more trees within the national park, and 1,000 fruit-bearing trees will be planted in every division of the park.”

CM Dhami in a post on X, wrote, “On this occasion, under the 'One Tree for Mother' campaign, more than 1,000 trees were collectively planted with the support of the Forest Department team, local community, and nature lovers. This was not merely an act of planting trees, but a heartfelt symbol of respect for nature and motherhood. I also met with the Forest Department team and appreciated their dedicated and committed efforts towards the protection of forests and wildlife.”

Later in the day, CM Dhami participated in a program organized to mark the 90th birth anniversary of the 14th Dalai Lama at TNMM School, Clementown, Dehradun. The Chief Minister paid tribute to the spiritual leader, highlighting his message of compassion, peace, and humanity.

CM Dhami also conducted an aerial survey of the disaster-affected regions of Silai Band and Ojri Band located on the Yamunotri road in Uttarkashi district. The survey aimed to assess damage and coordinate prompt relief and rehabilitation measures.
