Nowcast: IMD Dehradun has placed 9 districts in Uttarakhand under a red alert, warning of heavy rainfall with more than 15 mm of rain per hour. The districts under the red alert are Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, Almora, Champawat, Nainital, and Udham Singh Nagar.

The remaining four districts—Dehradun, Tehri Garhwal, Pauri Garhwal, and Haridwar—are under an orange alert, warning of moderate rainfall with 5–15 mm per hour.

Rainfall under both red and orange alerts will be accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, squalls, and associated weather conditions.

This nowcast remains valid until 9 PM tonight.

Forecast for August 5, 2025:
Red Alert: IMD Dehradun, in its forecast, has placed Haridwar, Nainital, and Udham Singh Nagar under a red alert, warning of very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, squalls, and associated weather conditions.

Orange Alert: Dehradun, Tehri Garhwal, Pauri Garhwal, Bageshwar, and Champawat are under an orange alert, warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, squalls, and associated weather conditions.

The remaining districts are under a yellow alert.

Forecast for August 6, 2025:
A yellow alert is in place for the entire state on August 6, warning of thunderstorms, lightning, squalls, and associated weather conditions.

The only exception is Udham Singh Nagar, which is under an orange alert, forecasting heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, squalls, and associated weather conditions.

Observed Temperature/Rainfall from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM Today on August 5:
In the past 24 hours, the Jolly Grant weather station recorded the highest rainfall in the state at 58.2 mm. Mukteshwar recorded the second-highest rainfall with 49.4 mm. Dehradun recorded the maximum day temperature in the state at 28.3°C.
