UP Man sacrificecs himself on Eid latest news: In a disturbing incident, an elderly man from Uttar Pradesh allegedly died by slitting his throat on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha in Deoria district, India TV reported, citing police sources.
The 60-year-old, identified as Ish Mohammed Ansari, reportedly slit his throat after offering namaz.
Locals, as cited in the report, claimed that the deceased had left a note stating, “I am sacrificing myself in the name of Allah and His messenger.”
However, police declined to confirm the recovery of any such note, according to a PTI report.
Upon hearing his cries, the family rushed him to the hospital with the help of police. He later succumbed to his injuries at Gorakhpur Medical College.
Additional Superintendent of Police (North), Arvind Kumar Verma, stated, “Preliminary investigation suggests that Ansari inflicted the wound himself. However, we are probing the matter from all angles.”
