Cricketer Rinku Singh Gets Engaged to SP MP Priya Saroj latest news: Lucknow, June 8 – Indian cricketer Rinku Singh got engaged to Samajwadi Party MP Priya Saroj on Sunday in a ceremony held in Lucknow. The engagement was attended by several prominent personalities, including political leaders and fellow cricketers.
Priya Saroj’s father, Tufani Saroj, a senior Samajwadi Party leader and MLA, expressed his happiness, saying he is “very happy” with his daughter’s engagement to the cricketer.
Rinku Singh, 27, was born in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. A left-handed batter and occasional off-spin bowler, he plays for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the IPL. He made his T20I debut in August 2023 against Ireland and his ODI debut in December 2023 against South Africa.
Priya Saroj, 26, born in Varanasi, is a first-time Member of Parliament. Before entering politics, she practiced as a Supreme Court lawyer. In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, she won her seat from Machhlishahr (SC) constituency, defeating BJP’s BP Saroj by over 35,000 votes.
The engagement ceremony saw the presence of several high-profile guests. Samajwadi Party leaders Akhilesh Yadav and Dimple Yadav attended the event. Congratulating the couple, Akhilesh Yadav said, “We have come to bless and congratulate them.”
BCCI Vice-President and Congress MP Rajeev Shukla, who also attended, stated, “May both have a great married life. They are a good couple—very successful in their own right. This marriage will be very successful for both.”
