A 31-year-old man shoots self in a bid to commit suicide at his residence. He was staying as a paying guest at Mataur village, Mohali.
The victim was working in a call centre and got emotional while remembering his
late mother and shot himself with a revolver of his friend.
His condition is said to be critical as his lower body parts have stopped functioning.
The SHO of Mataur police station said that the victim mother died a couple of years ago and got emotional while remembering his mother and shot himself.
After hearing the gunshot, the watchman of the
area reached the spot. Victim’s friends shifted him to a nearby
private hospital.
The investigation is going on as whether the revolver was licensed or not.
A case is yet to be registered in this regard, the SHO said.
