Phagwara (PB): A 50-year-old woman was killed and a man injured when their motorcycle was hit by another vehicle near Phagwara in Punjab's Kapurthala district, police said today.

Jaspreet Kaur was riding pillion on her relative Surjit Kumar's bike when it was hit by the vehicle on Phagwara- Hoshiarpur road near Rawalpindi village yesterday, they said.

Kumar has been hospitalised and Kaur's body was handed over to her family after a post-mortem examination, they said.

A case against the yet-to-be-identified driver has been registered. PTI
