Phagwara (Pb): Two women, including a newlywed, were killed and a man was injured when their car was hit by a pickup-truck near here, police said today. The incident took place yesterday when the car reached near Jagjitpur village on Phagwara-Hoshiarpur road and was hit by the truck coming from the opposite direction, they said.
The deceased have been identified as Renuka Khana (23) and Krishna Devi (60), the police said. The injured man, identified as Kunal Khana, told the police that he got married to Renuka two days back and was returning from Hoshiarpur after a post-marriage ceremony. He has been admitted to a hospital here, they said.The bodies have been handed over to the family after postmortem, the police said, adding a case has been registered against the absconding truck driver.
