Two killed and several injured in road accidents in Bathinda

Two persons were killed and several others were injured in road accidents in Bathinda. A man was crushed to death by a tractor. The victim, Jiwan Kumar (28) of Mandir Colony, reportedly died on the spot. 

After getting the information, ASI Resham Singh reached the spot. The body was sent to the Civil Hospital for a postmortem examination.

The driver of the tractor-trailer tried to escape, but was nabbed by passersby near Sirhind Canal. He was handed over to the police. 

In another mishap, a tractor-trailer collided with a car. Buta Singh who was travelling in the car with his family, lost his grandson in the accident while other members of the family sustained injuries.

Sub-Inspector Bhupinder Singh said a case under Sections 304 A, 279, 427, 337 of the IPC has been registered against the driver of the tractor-trailer on the basis of a complaint by Buta Singh at Talwandi Sabo police station.

In the third incident, a person was injured after a tempo-traveller turned turtle. After getting the information, volunteers of Sahara Jan Sewa, an NGO, reached the spot and admitted Rajiv Kumar (43) to hospital. Kumar belongs to Jaito in Faridkot district.
