Two months after winning the Gurdaspur Lok Sabha byelection by a margin of 1.93 lakh votes, Punjab Congress chief Sunil Jakhar will take oath as an MP on the opening day of Parliament’s winter session on Friday.
After a meeting with outgoing party president Sonia Gandhi, Jakhar said the Congress would raise its voice against the Central Government’s “stepmotherly” treatment towards Punjab.
The MP said he would also highlight the problems being faced by industrial units in the border areas of Gurdaspur and Batala.
