Chandigarh: Shiromani Akali Dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal today met more than 80 members of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, the apex religious body of Sikhs, to take their views on the upcoming elections to the post of president of the committee.
The SAD president held meetings with the SGPC members during the course of which they gave their views on the elections as well as issues concerning the Sikh faith, the party release said.
While the SGPC members from Amritsar, Tarn Taran, Gurdaspur, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur, Ludhiana, Patiala, Fatehgarh Sahib, Mohali, Chandigarh and Himachal Pradesh participated in meetings held at the party headquarters, the remaining members will also meet the SAD president, it said. The poll of the SGPC officer bearers is slated for November 29.
