Sharpshooter sent to police remand till November 17

Bathinda: The 'sharpshooter' Hardeep Singh alias Shera was sent to police remand till November 17 on Saturday by a Baghapurana court in Moga. He was arrested on Friday at a gym in Fatehgarh Sahib. On Saturday, he was also booked and arrested in an illegal weapons case of 2016, registered at Baghapurana in which UK national Jimmy Singh and his cousin Trilok Singh, are the main accused.

On Saturday, he was produced in the court of judicial magistrate first class Ramesh Chawla at Baghapurana. DGP Suresh Arora on Friday had claimed that Shera (21) was the shooter who killed RSS leaders Brig Jagdish Gagneja (retd) and Ravindra Gosain, church pastor Sultan Masih, Shiv Sena leader Durga Prasad Gupta, Hindu Takht leader Amit Sharma and used to run to Italy after committing crimes. 

According to information, Shera had met Khalistan Liberation Force (KLF) commander Harminder Singh Mintoo in Italy three years ago and got a Swiss-made pistol. DGP Arora had made references to 'conspiracy hatched between Pakistan's ISI and pro-Khalistan handlers in Italy, Canada, UK and other countries'.

Moga SSP Rajjit Singh Hundal said Shera had also been arrested in the illegal weapons case of 2016 in which Moga police had recovered 9 mm pistol and some cartridges. Mintoo is too in police custody in Moga.
