One arrested, three booked for selling fake diploma certificates and degrees

The team of the State Special Operations Cell has arrested a person and booked three others for selling fake diploma certificates and degrees.

The accused arrested has been identified as Gagandeep Singh. Others who have been booked include Sarabjit Singh and Kamljit Singh, both from Todar Majra.

The police have registered a case under Sections 420, 467, 468, 471 and 120B of the IPC at the State Special Operations Cell police station at Phase 1 in Mohali.

Varinderpal Singh, AIG, SSOC, said they have recovered over 40 fake degrees and diplomas of various courses from the possession of the accused.
