No online lottery being run by us: Punjab lottery department

Chandigarh: The Punjab Lottery department today said no online lottery is being run in the state and certain "anti-social" elements are committing fraud using its name. It has come to the notice of the lottery department that fraudulent e-mails, in the name of the bumper lottery schemes of Punjab, are being sent to people implying they have won first prize, an official spokesman of the department said.

No such e-mail was sent by the government, he said. He clarified that the lottery schemes of Punjab are being run in an absolutely transparent manner and the people are informed regarding the bumper lottery schemes issued at various intervals through the media. 


The tickets pertaining to the New Year Lohri Bumper-2018 will be issued very soon and the draw would be out on January 17, 2018, he added.
