Patiala: A 32-year old Harwinder Kaur, and her four-year-old daughter, Enampreet Kaur, were found drowned at the Sarovar in Gurdwara Sahib Moti Bagh in Patiala on Thursday morning. The duo had left home on Wednesday about 10 am, said investigation officer in the case, Gurpinder Singh, adding that when they did not return till evening, their families lodged a missing complaint at the Kotwali police station.
The police said Harwinder and her daughter had visited the gurdwara yesterday. Her body was found floating in the Sarovar this morning. Later, a team of divers fished out her daughter’s body. The police have initiated proceedings under Section 174 of the CrPC and sent the bodies for a post-mortem examination. The cause of the deaths is yet to be ascertained.
