Phagwara: A 24-year-old motorcyclist died after was run over by a train here, police said today. Police identified the deceased as Deepak Kumar, a resident of local Palahigate mohalla, and said he was coming from Basant Nagar side.

The railway barrier at Khera road crossing was shut, but the biker tried to cross under the barrier last night. Kumar was hit by Jammu-bound Pooja Express coming from Ajmer, the police said, adding the body was handed over to his family after a post-mortem examination. The motorcycle was impounded, police said. PTI
