Liquor seized, four arrested

The police have seized 78 boxes of wine of different brands during a raid in Sandhpur village. The village was 35 km away from Inspector Manjinder Singh says Dilbag Singh, who had been running an “illegal” wine shop in the village, was arrested.

A case under Sections 61, 1 and14 under the Excise Act had been registered, he said.

In another case, the police arrested three persons, including two women, and seized illicit liquor. The police said the accused had been identified as Harjit Kaur, Narinder Kaur and Sukhwinder Singh.
