The investigation wing of the income tax department are conducting searches at around 15 places of a business group.
According to a senior IT officer, the searches that had begin already are still continuing at some places in Jalandhar, including the ancestral home and the cold storage owned by the group at Nakodar that have diversified into real estate and hospitality sector.

The search teams have found incriminating documents and lockers and are assessing the total liability on the group.
The IT officials installed party flags and banners on their vehicles before striking at the identified spots. Also, instead of travelling by the office vehicles, they hired taxies to carry out the search.
