DPC 4 times in a year to end stalemate in promotions: Aruna Chaudhary

Chandigarh: The Education Department would hold Departmental Promotion Committees (DPC) 4 times in a year to end the stalemate in promotions as part of the overall strategy to formulate path breaking steps for uplifting the standard of education in Punjab.

Disclosing this here today in a statement, the Education Minister, Punjab, Mrs. Aruna Chaudhary said that the promotions are being speeded up as per which the department has promoted 310 lecturers as Principals. The department has called newly promoted officers in P.A.S. cadre (School & Inspection) Group 'A' cadre for counseling concerning postings on 1st and 2nd December at the Punjab School Education Board auditorium.


The lecturers who have been newly promoted to principal rank with seniority number from 2010 to 2252 have been called at 9 AM on 1st December while those with seniority number from 2254 to 2568 have been called on 2nd December at 9 AM.

Mrs. Chaudhary further said that under the visionary leadership of the Chief Minister, Captain Amarinder Singh the Punjab Government is promulgating teacher and student friendly measures besides refurbishing the school infrastructure. The minister also congratulated the newly promoted officers.
