Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Sunday expressed grief over the demise of Dr. Amrit Tewari, the mother of senior Congress leader and former Union Minister Manish Tewari.
In
a condolence message, the Chief Minister recalled the outstanding
services rendered by Padma Shri recipient Dr. Amrit Tewari in the field
of dentistry & orthodontics at national as well as international
level, besides serving at PGIMER, Chandigarh, in various administrative
capacities including as its Dean.
She was a multi-faceted personality, with the qualities of the head and heart, who worked tirelessly to uplift the disadvantaged sections of the society in and around Chandigarh, of which she was the member of its Municipal Corporation.
Sharing heartfelt condolences with the bereaved family, friends and relatives, the Chief Minister prayed to the Almighty to give courage to bear this irreparable loss in the hour of crisis and grant eternal peace to the departed soul.
