ASI arrested for accepting bribe in Punjab

Ferozepur: An assistant sub inspector, posted at police station Mamdot in this border district, was today arrested by sleuths of the Punjab Vigilance Bureau for allegedly accepting bribe of Rs 10,000.

Complainant Kirpal Singh of Village Lakha Singh Wala alleged that ASI Balwinder Singh was allegedly demanding money to favour his family members in some police case, officials said.


Vigilance Bureau officials said a case under the Prevention of Corruption Act has been registered against him at Vigilance Bureau police station Ferozepur and further investigation was underway.  PTI
