PM Modi to Hold Talks with Finland President Alexander Stubb During Four-Day India Visit
Finnish President Alexander Stubb arrived in New Delhi on Wednesday for a four-day state visit aimed at deepening cooperation with India in trade, investment and critical technologies.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi welcomed Stubb, expressing confidence that the visit would elevate India-Finland ties to “new heights.” The two leaders are scheduled to hold bilateral talks on Thursday, with discussions expected to focus on economic collaboration, emerging technologies and the evolving situation in West Asia. Several agreements across key sectors are likely to be finalised following the talks.
Before departing for India, Stubb said the visit would further strengthen bilateral relations, particularly in commerce and innovation. Responding on social media platform X, Modi said he looked forward to their meeting and to Stubb’s keynote address at the Raisina Dialogue 2026, where the Finnish leader will attend as the chief guest at the inaugural session on Thursday evening.
Minister of State for External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh received Stubb at the airport. External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said the visit would inject fresh momentum into the friendly and democratic partnership between the two countries.
Stubb will also meet President Droupadi Murmu and Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan. He is scheduled to travel to Mumbai on Friday to interact with business leaders before concluding his visit on Saturday.
