Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese on Wednesday extended warm wishes to Hindus and people of South Asian origin on the occasion of Holi, describing the festival as a powerful celebration of unity, renewal and the triumph of good over evil.

In a message shared on social media platform X, Albanese said Holi offers an opportunity for communities to come together to celebrate shared history, heritage and traditions. He noted that the festival symbolises friendship, forgiveness and the enduring values that bind people across cultures.

Calling it “truly wonderful” to see Holi embraced so enthusiastically in modern Australia, the Prime Minister said the festival has become a vibrant expression of colour, love and new beginnings, celebrated by Australians from diverse backgrounds. He added that Holi allows people to renew themselves and strengthen bonds within communities.
