Adampur town in Punjab continued to reel under biting cold conditions with a minimum temperature of 5 degrees Celsius, while the mercury remained below normal in most parts of the neighboring Haryana.

In Punjab, Amritsar and Ludhiana recorded the same night temperature of 6.2 degrees Celsius, a MeT department official said.

Patiala recorded a minimum of 7.6 degrees Celsius, Bathinda 8 degrees, while Pathankot and Gurdaspur recorded 7.2 degrees and 9 degrees Celsius, respectively.

Chandigarh recorded a minimum temperature of 8.2 degrees Celsius.

In Haryana, Hisar was the coldest place with a minimum temperature of 5.7 degrees Celsius, four notches below the normal.

The night temperature in Ambala was 8.8 degrees, in Karnal 6, in Narnaul 6.5, and in Rohtak, it was 6.7 degrees Celsius. PTI
