The expelled leaders removed from the party's primary membership
Shiromani Akali Dal latest news: On Tuesday, the Shiromani Akali Dal's disciplinary committee, led by Balwinder Singh Bhundar, expelled several senior leaders for purportedly engaging in anti-party activities. The meeting, which included committee members Maheshinder Singh Grewal and Gulzar Singh Ranike (who joined via telephone), resulted in significant disciplinary actions.
The expelled leaders removed from the party's primary membership are Gurpratap Singh Wadala, Bibi Jagir Kaur, Prof. Prem Singh Chandumajra, Parminder Singh Dhindsa, Sikander Singh Maluka, Surjit Singh Rakhra, Surinder Singh Thekedar, and Charanjit Singh Brar.
The committee determined that these individuals were consistently undermining the party's reputation. Despite a resolution passed at the working committee meeting on June 26, urging them to address their concerns within the party framework, they reportedly continued to spread false propaganda against the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) in the media.
Following the meeting, Balwinder Singh Bhundar stated that the committee unanimously decided to expel the leaders, accusing them of attempting to weaken the party in collaboration with its opponents. He cautioned that any further breaches of party discipline would be met with strict punitive measures.
In addition, the committee has removed the current in-charges of seven Vidhan Sabha constituencies, effective immediately. New in-charges will be appointed soon, following consultations with local workers and leaders. The constituencies affected are Nakodar, Bholath, Ghanaur, Sanaur, Rajpura, Samana, and Garhshankar.
