Farmers' Agitation Gains Momentum, Demands for Compensation, MSP, & Loan Waiver Persist

CHANDIGARH: The Farmers' protest, demanding compensation, a fair minimum support price (MSP), and loan waivers, has reached its third day in Punjab. The Agitation, characterized by farmers occupying railway lines in various parts of Punjab, has now extended its sit-in to Haryana. As part of their intensified demonstration, 19 farmer organizations from different states plan to halt trains at 20 locations in Ambala today.

The Farmer groups are set to deliberate on their next course of action, which will determine whether they will lift the rail blockade or continue their protest on the tracks. The blockade has severely disrupted rail services, affecting major routes, including Ambala to Amritsar, Pathankot to Amritsar, and Punjab to Chandigarh, Jalandhar, Ludhiana to Moga, Ferozepur, and Fazilka, leaving 203 trains in limbo.
