The court has granted bail to Ashish Kapoor

Chandigarh: Former AIG of Punjab Police Ashish Kapoor, who was arrested on corruption charges, got relief from the Punjab and Haryana High Court today. The court has granted bail to Ashish Kapoor in the corruption case. It is worth mentioning here that the Vigilance Bureau registered a case against the three accused under Section 7, 7-A of the Prevention of Corruption Act and Section 420, 120-B of the IPC and started the investigation.

Ashish Kapoor acquitted Poonam Rajan's sister-in-law Preeti with the connivance of then Zirakpur police station SHO Pawan Kumar and ASI Harjinder Singh. In return for this help, Ashish Kapoor got the said Prem Lata to sign various cheques.
