From Awareness to Action: ‘Yoga 365’ Pushes Daily Wellness Across India

The Ministry of Ayush has introduced “Yoga 365”, a nationwide initiative aimed at making yoga a part of daily life across the country. The campaign seeks to address the gap between widespread awareness and actual practice by encouraging people to integrate yoga into their everyday routines.

Recent data from the National Sample Survey highlights that awareness of yoga is nearly universal, with 95 per cent in rural areas and 96 per cent in urban regions. However, regular participation remains significantly lower, prompting the government to focus on sustained engagement rather than one-day observances.

To expand accessibility, the Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga has partnered with Habuild to provide free daily online sessions. These guided programmes are designed to reach diverse groups, making yoga more practical for people with varying schedules and needs.

The initiative also strengthens existing programmes such as Y-Break for workplaces and the Common Yoga Protocol for the general public, alongside therapeutic modules for lifestyle diseases. Officials, including Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha, said the campaign combines digital outreach with community participation to build a culture of consistent wellness.

“Yoga 365” was launched during Yoga Mahotsav 2026 at Vigyan Bhawan, ahead of the International Day of Yoga.
