The Kathunangal police have booked three
persons, including a woman on the attempt to murder charge. They were
identified as Jagroop Singh, his brother Daler singh and their mother
Gurpreet Kaur.
Mukhtar Singh, the complainant, alleged that yesterday at around 8
pm, his cousin told him that he was returning to his home after
attending a marriage function when he found Jagroop’s scooter parked on
the street. He said he asked him to move it.
However, instead of moving the scooter, he entered into an argument with him. He said residents of the village intervened and asked both the groups to leave. He said in the meanwhile, his son Jaspinder Singh also reached the spot.
He alleged that when everybody was leaving, Gurpreet Kaur
challenged them while Daler Singh brought a revolver from his house and
started firing. One of the fires hit his (Mukhtar’s) ankle and two
bullets hit his son Jaspinder Singh’s knee and foot. They were admitted
to the Guru Nanak Dev Hospital for treatment.
