Veer Baksh's Life Lost in a Heartbreaking Drowning Incident in Ludhiana

LUDHIANA: In a tragic incident, a youth lost his life after drowning in the Sidhwan Canal during a late-night Ganpati Visarjan in Ludhiana. The unfortunate event unfolded amidst the darkness of the night and blaring music from the surrounding area, hindering immediate detection of the drowning youth. Desperate family members initiated a search when they could not find him for an extended period.

Divers were deployed, and the body of the deceased, identified as Veer Baksh from Chhoti Jawaddi, was recovered approximately 14 hours after the drowning incident. The police promptly took possession of the body and proceeded with necessary post-mortem procedures.

According to the family, Veer Baksh had participated in the Ganpati immersion at Sidhwan Canal on Wednesday night. Following the ritual, he began bathing in the canal's waters. Tragically, during a dip, he went unnoticed and drowned suddenly during his attempt to take another dip. The Dugri police station confirmed that the body was retrieved from the canal on Thursday afternoon, marking a heartbreaking end to the search.
