Court Grants Further Remand of AAP MLA Raman Arora to Vigilance
AAP MLA Raman Arora has been remanded to the custody of the Vigilance Bureau for an additional four days. He was presented before the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Sushil Bodh.
Arora was arrested a few days ago in connection with a corruption case. Following the completion of his initial five-day remand, the Vigilance Bureau produced him in court again on Monday and sought an extension of his custody to continue the investigation.
The Vigilance Bureau once again sought a seven-day remand of Raman Arora from the court. During the hearing, lawyers from both sides presented their arguments.
Giving details about the case, a lawyer stated that among a list of other individuals involved, the names of three persons were submitted in court. However, the Vigilance did not present any new arguments in court during this hearing.
The Vigilance Bureau has recorded statements related to properties from a few individuals. However, it did not submit any statements about the three individuals—Raju, Mahesh Bakhshi, and Rajan—whose names were mentioned in court.
After hearing arguments from both sides, the court had reserved its decision. Later, the court granted a four-day remand of Raman Arora to the Vigilance Bureau.
