SGPC Elections Result 2024 Updates: The presidential election of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) on Monday witnessed senior Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leaders competing against each other for the post of president of the Sikh body. (Punjab Latest News Today)

While Shiromani Akali Dal has deployed the sitting president of the SGPC Harjinder Singh Dhami for the contest, the opposition group under the banner of SAD Sudhar Lehar has declared the first ever women president of the Sikh body, Bibi Jagir Kaur, who also served in the Badal govt cabinet in the past. 

Meanwhile, Harjinder Singh Dhami was elected the SGPC president for the fourth time.

14:13 PM | Harjinder Singh Dhami garnered 107 votes while Bibi Jagir Kaur got only 33 votes. 

14:00 PM | Harjinder Singh Dhami becomes SGPC president for the fourth time.
