Aam Aadmi Party Punjab senior leader and MLA Kultar Singh Sandhwan has levelled serious allegations against the Amarinder Singh government

Chandigarh: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab senior leader and MLA Kultar Singh Sandhwan has levelled serious allegations against the Amarinder Singh government for ruining millers and basmati traders in the state, saying the community had been left to end for itself’.

He said that the Chief Minister had been totally insensitive about the issues and concerns of the traders’ community, sitting pretty in his Siswan farmhouse issue, as a result of which, the interests of all sections of the society, including the farmers and traders, were at stake, while the Govt-sponsored mafia was indulging in open ‘loot’ of the people of the state.

In a statement issued from party headquarters on Wednesday, Kultar Singh Sandhwan said that Chief Minister Amarinder Singh should first of all ensure that no miller/ trader running his/ her business in a transparent manner should not be subjected to harassment and blackmailing them by procuring paddy at half the rate and sold in Punjab mandis at exorbitant rates. He said the practice should be stopped forthwith.

Sandhwan demanded a high level judicial inquiry into the allegations leveled against the Punjab Police by the shellers association and basmati traders for registering false FIRs to bring the whole truth to the fore.

The AAP leaders said that the powerful market mafia calling the shots in the state was involved in illegally selling paddy smuggled from other states for sale in Punjab under the protective patronage of the ruling Congress ministers, MLAs and other senior leaders.

Sandhwan said that the Chief Minister had failed to protect the interests of the farmers, mandi laborers and traders of the state and should step down as chief minister.
