President of India Announced New Appointments for Nine States and Union Territories:
Gulab Chand Kataria Appointed as Punjab Governor and Chandigarh Administrator: The President of India Droupadi Murmu has approved the resignation of Banwarilal Purohit from his positions as Governor of Punjab and Administrator of the Union Territory of Chandigarh. In his place, Gulab Chand Kataria has been appointed as the new Governor of Punjab and Administrator of Chandigarh.

The President of India has made several significant appointments for Governors across various states and Union Territories:
Shri Haribhau Kisanrao Bagde has been appointed as the Governor of Rajasthan.
Shri Jishnu Dev Varma will serve as the Governor of Telangana.
Shri Om Prakash Mathur has been appointed as the Governor of Sikkim.
Shri Santosh Kumar Gangwar is the new Governor of Jharkhand.
Shri Ramen Deka will take on the role of Governor of Chhattisgarh.
Shri C.H. Vijayashankar has been appointed as the Governor of Meghalaya.
Shri C.P. Radhakrishnan, previously the Governor of Jharkhand with additional charge of Telangana, has been appointed as the Governor of Maharashtra.
Shri Gulab Chand Kataria, who was serving as the Governor of Assam, has been appointed as the Governor of Punjab and will also serve as the Administrator of the Union Territory of Chandigarh.
Shri Lakshman Prasad Acharya, the current Governor of Sikkim, has been appointed as the Governor of Assam and given additional charge as the Governor of Manipur.
These appointments will take effect from the dates on which the new Governors assume their respective offices.
