The Shiromani Akali Dal took a serious note of press conference by the PPCC President Mr. Sunil Jakhar in Punjab Bhawan today and described it as a brazen violation of model code of conduct and an attempt to influence the voters of 32-Shahkot assembly constituency on the day of polling as it was telecast live on some channels. A written complaint in this regard was filed by Shiromani Akali Dal Spokesman & Senior Vice President Dr. Daljit Singh Cheema to CEO Punjab as well as ECI.

He also informed the CEO telephone about the misuse of Punjab Bhawan by the PPCC Chief on the day of polling and demanded immediate strict action against the Congress party and other officials responsible for this grave violation. Dr. Cheema alleged that the timing of the press conference reveals the intention of the PPCC Chief to influence voting.
