Dr. Gulab Singh Narwal and Er. Harminder Singh joins as Member, Irrigation and Member, Power respectively in BBMB on 27.3.2019 (AN)
Chandigarh: 28th March'19: Member, Irrigation, Dr. Gulab Singh Narwal: Dr. Gulab Singh Narwal has been appointed as Member, Irrigation in Bhakra Beas Management Board by Govt. of India, Ministry of Power and he took over his new assignment on 27.3.2019 (FN). Born in March, 1969 he is the youngest ever Whole Time Member of BBMB with many Technical, Law & Management degrees. Prior to his appointment as Member, Irrigation, BBMB, he was working in BBMB as Chief Engineer, BSL.
Dr. Narwal has a vast experience of over 21 years in Planning, Design and Construction of Irrigation infrastructure, Water Resources and Hydro Power projects. During his service tenure, Dr. Narwal has presented twelve Technical papers in the national and international journals .He has the honour to represent India in Singapore in the year 2007 on the subject of Integrated Water Resources Management.
He has also been a key resource person in the Haryana state for his extensive experience of world bank projects and the knowledge of world bank policies, monitoring and supervision. At present, he is a life member of 12 national engineering institutions and societies.
Member, Power, Er. Harminder Singh: Er. Harminder Singh has been appointed Member (Power) in BBMB by Govt. of India, Ministry of Power and he took over his new assignment on 27.3.2019 AN. An officer from PSPCL, Er. Harminder Singh, holds a Bachelors’ Degree in Mechanical Engineering and has over 33 years of extensive hands-on experience in Generation, Transmission and Distribution of Power.
Out of 33 years of service in PSPCL & BBMB till date, about 25 years of experience is in Generation organization. Prior to his appointment as Member (Power), BBMB, he was working as Chief Engineer/ System Operation, BBMB, Chandigarh. He has been instrumental in kick starting the implementation of SCADA (for operation of Bhakra Left Power House from Chandigarh) and ERP in BBMB. During his tenure in PSPCL, he has been instrumental in erection & commissioning of dry fly ash handling system in GGSSTP and issues related to arrangement of coal for Thermal Power Stations.
