Clubs and hotels will open till 1 am; action will be taken against those violating norms

New Year 2024 celebrations, Mohali guidelines news: In view of the New Year 2024 celebrations, the Mohali administration has issued guidelines and asked citizens to adhere to them. 

As per the guidelines, the celebrations in clubs, hotels, restaurants, etc, on New Year would only be allowed till 1:00 am. To maintain the law and order situation, Mohali DC has ordered that all shops, hotels, restaurants, etc. in the city would be closed at 1:00 am on the midnight of 31st December and 1st January. 

If these directives are violated, strict action will be taken against the culprit, as per law. DC has also given instructions to the police for the same. 

This order has been given by DC Mohali in compliance with the powers of the District Magistrate under Section 144 of the IPC. In such a situation, action will be taken against the violators, only under section 144 of the IPC.

Special Police checkpoints

Given the New Year celebrations, the police are also preparing to block the entire city and separate teams have been formed for the same. These teams will set up blockades in different areas of the city. The police checkpoints will be monitored throughout the night. 

Ahead of the New Year, the majority of people from Tricity rush to clubs, hotels, or restaurants to celebrate the new beginning. Not only inside the Tricity but also people prefer going to the mountains to chill. However, these people have also been advised to take good care and avoid such travel because of heavy traffic in Himachal Pradesh. Besides, the dense fog is also the reason why people have been advised to take good care while traveling.
