Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway Land Possession in Malerkotla, Kapurthala Latest News Today: In a major development, the Chief Secretary to the Government of Punjab, recently wrote a letter to the Director General of Punjab, Gaurav Yadav, seeking cooperation for the land Possession for Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway.
The notification, issued by Anurag Verma, IAS, Chief Secretary to the Government of Punjab, addresses a crucial matter concerning the progress of the Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway. As per the letter, the Prime Minister is scheduled to hold a PRAGATI meeting on August 28, 2024, during which the expressway's progress will be reviewed.
The letter highlights two specific stretches of the expressway that require immediate attention: a 1.34 km stretch in Malerkotla and a 1.25 km stretch in Kapurthala. It was observed during a review with Deputy Commissioners that possession of these small yet critical sections can be secured by August 27, 2024, provided that sufficient police force is deployed.
In this regard, the notification requests Sh. Gaurav Yadav, IPS, Director General of Police, Punjab, to ensure that the required police force is provided to the Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) of Malerkotla and Kapurthala. The objective is to clear these stretches before the PRAGATI meeting to facilitate the progress of the expressway project.
This letter underscores the importance of coordination between law enforcement and government bodies to meet project deadlines and ensure the smooth development of infrastructure critical to national connectivity and development.
