In a major development, the Punjab Government has suspended Vigilance Bureau Chief SPS Parmar, along with AIG Vigilance and SSP Vigilance, in connection with an alleged driving license scam. The action signals the government’s zero-tolerance stance on corruption, particularly against those who attempt to shield the guilty.
As per official sources, the suspensions were ordered after it was found that the officers allegedly tried to obstruct action in the ongoing probe related to the scam. The government has called this an attempt to "save scamsters", prompting immediate disciplinary action.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann issued a stern warning following the move, stating, "Whoever tries to protect the corrupt will not be spared."
This direct action comes amid ongoing investigations into irregularities in the issuance of driving licenses. The scam is believed to involve multiple officials and points to a deeper nexus of corruption within the system.
Further inquiry is underway, and more names may come under scrutiny as the case unfolds.
